Sensory Integration Therapy

Sensory processing allows a child to respond to different sensory information (sound, vison, touch, taste, smell, spatial, and internal sensations/interoceptive) in their immediate environment. This will affect their ability to behave in meaningful and consistent ways.

Children that experience sensory processing difficulties may avoid participation in childhood experiences or show inconsistency in engaging with sensory experiences. These children tend to either seek sensations out, avoid certain sensations, or display signs of both seeking and avoiding. Performing ordinary daily tasks and responding to everyday life events can be challenging.

With support from a therapist and fun, gradual exposure of these sensations, we will work together to help a child become comfortable and confident to experience these sensory sensations and live their life to the fullest potential.
