Anna Fox Dillard MA, CCC-SLP
Background
Anna grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and came to Austin in 1991 to attend the University of Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1995 from UT Austin, and completed her master’s degree in 2002 at the State University of New York at Buffalo in Communication Disorders. In her free time, Anna enjoys being in nature, reading books, and traveling. As a hobby, she enjoys tending to her herb/pollinator/fairy garden. Some of Anna’s favorite things include spending time with her husband, Alex, and her two cats, Shenobi and Poseidon.
Originally, Anna majored in linguistics at UT Austin because she loves learning new languages. When she told her academic advisor she was a people person, he suggested she try speech-language pathology. It was a wonderful match, and Anna has spent 25 years working in the field. Anna is certified in the Hanen “It Takes Two to Talk” program and the Compton Pronouncing English as a Second Language (accent modification) program. She has worked with many different populations and in many different settings, including 8 years in the Round Rock ISD’s deaf education program and 6 years teaching graduate students at Texas State University. She enjoys being a speech-language pathologist because she gets to help people communicate.
Anna loves the way Austin’s Communication Station involves the family in treatment. The Austin’s Communication Station team is also very talented and supportive. She chose to work at Austin’s Communication Station because autism is one of her passions and she loves being able to experience the daily joys of working with a variety of children.
