Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow

Raazia discovered her passion for working with individuals with communication disorders through a school mentorship program where her mentor effectively provided a voice for all patients in some way, which inspired Raazia to one day do the same. For as long as she can remember, Raazia has had a fondness for individuals with disabilities and has always aimed to find ways to assist them in living their best lives. Her specific areas of interest include augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), Autism, feeding, executive functioning, and social communication. She enjoys being a therapist due to the immense sense of accomplishment she feels every day, regardless of whether there are big wins or small ones. Being able to lift a child up through their communicative abilities is what inspires Raazia the most.

Raazia had the opportunity to complete her final semester of graduate school, here at Austin’s Communnication Station as her full time spring practicum placement. During this time, she fell in love with ACS and the therapy environment and decided to begin working here as a clinical fellow in SLP following graduation.

Raazia chose to join the ACS team because she immediately felt a sense of belonging during her clinical externship and was strongly drawn to the patient population at Austin’s Communication Station. She believes that the team at ACS genuinely cares about each individual patient’s success and consistently strives to learn and grow as a whole.
