Speech-Language Pathologist

Background

Ryan earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Ball State University. He is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and maintains active licensure in both Texas and Indiana.

Ryan has worked with clients across the lifespan, from birth through adulthood, in a wide range of settings including schools, outpatient clinics, homes, adult day programs, rehabilitation hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities. His clinical experience includes supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders, Deaf and Hard of Hearing diagnoses, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs, social communication challenges, feeding and swallowing disorders, and aphasia. Ryan has also provided direct therapy while supervising Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and Clinical Fellowship Speech-Language Pathologists.

Ryan is especially passionate about AAC, early language delays, and tracheostomy and ventilator care. He has presented multiple continuing education courses focused on AAC to fellow professionals through TDLR. Ryan believes therapy should be functional, engaging, and individualized, with an emphasis on each client’s unique strengths and needs.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, biking, and exploring local trails with his dog, Lemon. He is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside families at Austin Communication Station and is committed to helping clients feel supported, understood, and confident as they develop their communication skills.
